Participation Policy
Weblog Comments
The Barrie & Hibbert blog will cover a variety of topics relating to the financial services industry, and we encourage you to participate by making comments. Comments on our Barrie & Hibbert blog are pre-moderated, which means an administrator must approve them before they become visible. We do this as a precaution against spam or offensive content, and not as a way of limiting valid discourse. Please follow the guidelines below before posting a comment:
- Please don't use any offensive language or link to any websites that could be considered offensive. If you're in doubt about what would be considered offensive, just email us at .
- You are more than welcome to disagree with us or our other commentators - we invite a healthy discussion! Before you post, though, please take care to ensure that your post is civil - we will not approve any comments that are insulting towards our staff or other commentators.
- Please make sure that your comment contributes to the overall conversation. If you post something that derails the topic at hand or is viewed as disruptive, we are not likely to approve it.
Once you have submitted a comment, we will endeavour to review it as quickly as possible.
Knowledge Base Article Reviews
Our Knowledge Base is open to the public at an abstract level, but only logged-in clients will be able to read articles and author reviews. Because these reviews are limited to a small group of users, we do not pre-moderate these reviews. We will, however, remove any reviews that do not follow the guidelines below:
- We don't mind if you give an article a bad review, as long as you say why. If an article wasn't what you wanted, please refrain from just scoring it low and giving a short "this is rubbish" sort of review -- please tell us why it wasn't suitable for you and what you were expecting instead. This will provide valuable feedback for B&H as we author future articles, and it will also help others navigate our Knowledge Base to find the most suitable articles for them. If you write a review that we view as un-helpful, (usually a very short review), we are likely to remove it.
- Please focus on reviewing the article, rather than asking questions - we will not answer questions asked in reviews. The article review section is designed to help people find articles that are suitable for their needs, and not as a question-and-answer forum. If you have a question about a particular article please contact us at and we will be happy to help you.
- Please don't use any offensive language or link to any websites that could be considered offensive. If you're in doubt about what would be considered offensive, just email us at .
While the guidelines above represent the majority of reasons why we may not approve / may remove a comment you have posted, we reserve the right to remove comments and reviews for any other reason. If we have reviewed something of yours and you want to know why or think we have done so in error, just contact us at and we'll be happy to help.
Finally, all comments and reviews on the Barrie & Hibbert website are the responsibility of the commenter, not Barrie & Hibbert. By submitting a comment or review on our website, you agree that the comment content is your own, and to hold Barrie & Hibbert and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.
Thank you in advance for your participation on our site, we look forward to hearing from you.
