Technical Advisory Panel

Technical Advisory Panel

The objective of the Technical Advisory Panel ("TAP") is to guide Barrie & Hibbert Ltd ("B&H") in establishing and maintaining a sound set of principles and working practices to ensure its published standard calibrations are viewed by all users (and users of financial information prepared using the calibrations and models) as reasonable, objective (so far as this is possible) and transparent for certain specified purposes.

Given the number and diversity of 'stakeholders' in the calibration policies adopted by B&H and their increasing importance in financial reporting, the TAP is intended to strengthen the governance process by exposing policy and working practices to wider scrutiny.

How it works

The development cycle for the documentation of standard practices follows four steps:

  1. Current Issues
  2. Discussion Papers (TAP members only)
  3. Exposure Drafts
  4. Statements of Practice

See our working practice page for more details.
