Proposed Regulatory Changes by the Monetary Authority Singapore

Last updated 20th October 2009 - New regulation on the horizon in Singapore, dealing with the sales and marketing of structured products.

In October 2008, the Monetary Authority in Singapore (MAS) announced that they would undertake a review of the sales and marketing of structured products. The subsequent emergence of a consultation paper outlining the proposed regulatory changes for unlisted products, provides a clear indication of increased consumer protection being central to the Authority’s approach.
