Straightforward risk solutions

In 1995 Andrew Barrie and John Hibbert set up their business in Edinburgh. They based it on their insight that academically robust techniques used in the investment banking sector for the pricing and management of risk could be adapted and extended for a much broader market.

Their aim was to develop a market-leading stochastic asset risk proposition that could be used by the insurance, commercial banking, pensions and retail sectors.

Over 100 man years and many technical challenges later, they have created a robust, yet flexible model architecture that meets the exacting standards of some of the most sophisticated risk managers in the world.

Financial markets today are complex and volatile. There are many challenges to making the right decisions: uncertainty about the market, its accelerating regulatory changes and the associated reputational risks.

Today’s decisions can have profound effects far into the future. More than ever before, those who want to manage risk successfully must think globally, strategically and proactively.
