David Gamble, Chairman & Non-Executive Director
David is an Economics and Accountancy graduate with over 35 years' industry experience. His investment career included positions with GEC pension fund, NM Rothschild & Sons, and County NatWest Investment Management, where he was Deputy Chief Executive.
In 1985 David was appointed president of NatWest Investment Banking USA, returning to London in 1989. He was appointed Chief Executive of British Airways Pension Investment Management Limited in 1993, and retired in October 2003.
David has a series of non-executive and advisory roles in various parts of the asset management industry. He is also Chairman of a large property unit trust. He sits on the investment committee of The Royal Academy of Arts and is currently chairman of the United Kingdom Investment Performance Standards (UKIPS).
David Macmillan, Chief Executive Officer
David was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Barrie & Hibbert in November 2007.
Prior to this appointment, David was with Standard Life Plc for 16 years undertaking a variety of roles across the Group.
In 2005, David was appointed UK Retail Director at Standard Life, ahead of the company's Stock Market flotation. He has a wealth of experience in strategy development, marketing, distribution and general management.Ian Sinclair, Chief Operating Officer
Ian joined Barrie & Hibbert in 2005 with a remit to manage strategic, commercial and operational functions. Ian has over 16 years experience in the financial services sector at Board level and in General Management roles.
Ian joined Barrie & Hibbert from The WM Company Plc where he was Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Previously Ian had worked at State Street Corporation, Deutsche Bank A.G., Standard Chartered Bank Plc and the HSBC Group.
Andrew Barrie, Director & founder
Andrew is a mathematics graduate with more than 20 years' industry experience in both life insurance and investment banking.
Before setting up Barrie & Hibbert, he was responsible for one of the UK's top-rated equity derivatives operations at a major investment bank.
John Hibbert, Director & founder
A graduate in economics and accounting, and then operational research, John has over 20 years' experience in the life insurance, asset management and securities industries.
Before founding Barrie & Hibbert, he led the equity quantitative research team at a major investment bank and was voted the city's top quantitative analyst.
